BJP Deploys Top Leaders For Bengal Poll Push, PM Modi and HM Shah To Spearhead Campaign

The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its list of star campaigners for the West Bengal Assembly elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah set to lead the party’s outreach efforts across the state.

The campaign line-up features senior leaders such as BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, and Dharmendra Pradhan. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also take part in multiple rallies.

Prominent personalities, including Mithun Chakraborty, Leander Paes, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, are also part of the campaign team.

The list further includes leaders such as Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Smriti Irani, Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Thakur, Annapurna Devi, Arjun Munda, Babulal Marandi, Samrat Choudhary, Manoj Tiwari, Bhupender Yadav, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Mangal Pandey, and Amit Malviya.

State-level leaders such as Samik Bhattacharya, Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Sukanta Majumdar, Shantanu Thakur, and Raju Bista will handle key campaign responsibilities.

PM Modi Launches Campaign in Cooch Behar

The announcement came as PM Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Cooch Behar, marking his first public meeting in the state since authorities announced the election schedule on 15 March. During his speech, he criticised the administration led by Mamata Banerjee over governance issues.

PM Modi pointed to a recent incident in Kaliachak in Malda district, where judicial officers were reportedly held hostage, stating that the development had shocked the nation. He also noted that the Supreme Court of India has expressed concern over the state’s law and order situation.

The Prime Minister alleged that several constitutional institutions in the state have come under attack. He further accused the Trinamool Congress of protecting illegal infiltrators and asserted that the BJP will take action after the elections.

With a strong roster of campaigners and an assertive political strategy, the BJP has stepped up its campaign efforts to expand its presence in West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections.
