Congressman Rahul Gandhi stirred up controversy in India with a lecture he gave at Cambridge University. Following Rahul Gandhi’s comments criticizing the PM Modi-led administration at the Center, BJP leaders attacked the Congress leaders for their remarks made while they were abroad. The Bharatiya Janata Party is also furious with Rahul Gandhi for his comment that was perceived as “praising” China.
As a visiting fellow, Rahul Gandhi gave the lecture “Learning to Listen in the 21st Century” on Tuesday night at the Cambridge Judge Management School. His presentation had two main themes: the “Imperative for a Global Dialogue” and the “Two Divergent Perspectives” of the US and China since World War II.
After a video of his presentation was posted on social media.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam and a prominent member of the BJP, stated: “First, foreign agents target us! Then an enemy nation targets us there! In reality, Rahul Gandhi’s speech at Cambridge was a brazen attempt to insult our nation on foreign soil under the pretense of criticizing Prime Minister Modi
Rahul praises China as a rising powerhouse and uses the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as an instance. FACT: BRI is exclusively to blame for the current debt issue that affects a number of nations. He should have heard this from Uncle Pitroda, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
Rahul continues, calling China’s rejection of intellectual property rights a significant and potent idea. The Assam CM said, “Want to know if P Chidambaram similarly believes that removing copyright laws and promoting piracy will increase manufacturing? “Rahul even acknowledges that he is enamored by China and that members of the Communist party have influenced his ideas. It makes sense to praise the Chinese in such a rich manner. The Gandhi family is making an effort to settle its debts with the gifts they received.
“This is Rahul Gandhi- whenever he goes abroad, he insults India…He does this whenever he goes abroad and calls China the symbol of goodwill. The country should see his true face…We condemn his childish statement,” BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
