Bihar’s Ruling Alliance Stands United: Dismissing Nitish Kumar’s Discontent And INDIA Bloc Rift Reports

Bihar’s ruling coalition, comprising JD(U) and RJD, projects a unified front amidst speculation of Nitish Kumar’s discontent over Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s potential candidacy. Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav dismisses reports of a rift, urging critics to verify sources.

JDU, led by Lallan Singh, downplays alliance issues, asserting harmony in the INDIA bloc and announcing seat-sharing decisions within a week. Meanwhile, BJP’s Giriraj Singh claims Lalu Yadav foresees JDU merging with RJD, a statement brushed off by Tejashwi Yadav as an attempt by BJP to grab attention.

Tejashwi also dismisses BJP’s 2024 electoral sweep prediction, stating, “People talk,” implying skepticism towards such claims. In a strategic move, BJP leader’s Giriraj Singh’s revelation is dismissed by Tejashwi Yadav, who accuses the BJP of attributing their thoughts to others for publicity.

The fourth meeting of the Opposition alliance in Delhi sees Mamata Banerjee proposing Mallikarjun Kharge as the prime ministerial candidate. Backed by 12 participating parties due to Kharge’s prominence as a Dalit face, the unexpected support from Arvind Kejriwal emphasizes the chance for India’s first Dalit Prime Minister.

Kharge downplays the proposal, emphasizing the need to secure a majority before discussing the PM candidate. This shift towards Kharge is perceived as a snub to Rahul Gandhi, highlighting divisions within the Opposition over his potential candidacy. The approval for Kharge signifies his stature among Opposition leaders and the evolving dynamics within the alliance.
