Bihar Polls 2025: Leaders Appeal To Voters As First Phase Begins Across 18 Districts

The first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 began on Thursday, with leaders from all major political parties appealing to voters through social media to cast their votes in large numbers, calling the day decisive for the state’s future.

Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader and Chief Ministerial face of the Mahagathbandhan, issued an emotional message to the people. He urged first-time voters, women, farmers, traders, and students to take part in shaping Bihar’s direction.

“My salutations to all the fate-makers of Bihar. Today is an important day for voting. The future destiny of Bihar will be determined by the single button you press,” he wrote in his post.

Addressing different sections of society, Yadav added, “I want to appeal to all voters, especially the GEN-Z exercising their vote for the first time, to mothers and sisters, to traders, to farmers, to migrants living in other states, to every common citizen, to every student preparing for a job through coaching, to every patient undergoing treatment for their illnesses and their families, and to every eligible voter in Bihar, that you must vote, you must vote in all circumstances. Bihar’s condition will be prosperous only when all of you exercise your vote.”

He further said that casting a vote is both a duty and a step towards progress, reminding people, “Your exercise of the vote will create the right opportunity for Bihar’s progress. Therefore, remember to definitely exercise your vote for Bihar’s bright future. Vote first, remember All other work later!”

At the same time, Prashant Kishor, the Jan Suraaj Party chief, urged citizens to choose change over old-style politics. He said that Bihar finally has a real alternative this time.

“For years, people in Bihar had to vote for BJP due to lack of choice or against Lalu Ji out of fear,” Kishor stated.

“After an honest trial for three years, this time there is an option — Jan Suraaj — where we’ve selected honest and capable candidates. I appeal to you all to vote for Jan Suraaj and ensure rapid change, end corruption, and bring better education for your children,” he further asserted.

Meanwhile, the BJP’s Bihar unit reached out to voters with posts focusing on development and welfare promises.

“Bihar will become developed with your one vote! Therefore, cast your vote yourself and also inspire others to do so,” read one message.

Another added, “With your one vote, the EBC category castes will receive ₹10 lakh assistance! Therefore, cast your vote yourself and inspire others to do the same.”

Over 3.75 crore voters across 18 districts are heading to polling stations. The appeals from political leaders have set the tone for a closely fought first phase. This round will decide the future of 1,314 candidates in the fray.
