Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday hailed Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) as a living embodiment of India’s cultural ethos and a key contributor to nation-building.
Speaking at the organisation’s 63rd Foundation Day celebration in New Delhi, Shah praised its six-decade journey, describing it as a ‘testament to the power of organised service, civic duty, and cultural values’.
Amit Shah said Bharat Vikas Parishad was not just an institution but a unifying force rooted in Indian tradition.
He emphasised the Parishad’s grassroots impact in strengthening the social and cultural fabric of the country.
“By linking service with organisation and culture with nation-building, the Parishad continues to address the needs of modern India,” he stated.
The Home Minister drew a direct connection between the Parishad’s mission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047.
He highlighted goals such as ending colonial mindsets, fostering pride in heritage, and encouraging unity and civic responsibility.
“Bharat Vikas Parishad plays the crucial role of connecting those willing to serve with those in need—without seeking fame or recognition,” he said.
During the event, Shah paid homage to freedom fighter Hemam Neelmani Singh from Manipur, who was posthumously honoured. Inspired by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Singh had joined the Azad Hind Fauj in 1944 and later dedicated his life to education, public service, and linguistic unity.
Shah praised Singh’s efforts in promoting Hindi in Manipur and highlighted his lasting influence on the state’s youth.
HM Shah said Bharat Vikas Parishad spans 412 districts with 1,600 branches and 84,000 member families.
He further commended the organisation’s work in disaster relief, blood donation drives, and cultural education camps.
“These sustained, quiet efforts are what truly strengthen our nation,” he remarked.
Home Minister Shah highlighted 10 years of Modi-led progress in finance, sanitation, housing, and women’s empowerment.
He cited flagship schemes like the Mudra Yojana as transformative.
“Service-driven organisations like Bharat Vikas Parishad remain essential to achieving India’s development goals,” Shah concluded.
