Bharat Express Exit Poll 2024: NDA Leads In Bihar With 32-34 Seats, INDIA Alliance Trails With 6-8

Voting for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections concluded today, June 1st. With the conclusion of voting, all eyes are now on the exit polls, which have been broadcast live on news channels across the country since 6:30 pm on Saturday. Here, we provide insights from the ‘Bharat Express’ exit poll, specifically focusing on the state of Bihar to determine which party is projected to win how many seats.

Bihar has a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats. The main electoral contest in the state is between the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and the INDIA alliance. According to the exit poll results released today, the BJP+ is predicted to secure the majority of seats. However, four agencies’ exit polls suggest the NDA may lose some seats in Bihar.

The Bharat Express exit poll predicts that the NDA will secure between 32 to 34 seats, while the INDIA alliance is expected to win between 6 to 8 seats.

In this election, the BJP contested 17 seats, and the JDU (Janata Dal United) contested 16 seats within the NDA coalition. From the NDA’s quota, Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) contested 5 seats, Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) contested 1 seat, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) contested 1 seat. Meanwhile, within the INDIA alliance, the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) contested 23 seats, the Congress contested 9 seats, the Left parties contested 5 seats, and the VIP (Vikassheel Insaan Party) contested 3 seats.

Currently, Bihar has an NDA government with Nitish Kumar of the JDU serving as Chief Minister and a BJP deputy Chief Minister.

Exit polls are surveys conducted to understand which party or candidate voters have chosen, based on responses from a sample of voters as they leave polling stations. These polls are released on the last day of voting, providing an early estimate of the election results at both local and national levels. Exit polls offer parties and political analysts insights into voting trends, allowing news channels to make predictive reports about the election outcomes. The agencies conducting these polls continuously refine their methodologies, often providing a glimpse of the final election results. Notably, Bharat Express has released its exit poll today with the largest sample size.
