Bharat express CMD Upendrra Rai unveiled the statue of Harinarahan Choudhary, Founder of Astha Shaheed inter College

On Saturday, the statue of Harinarayan Rai Chaudhary, the esteemed founder of Ashta Shaheed Inter College (ASIC) in Ghazipur, was unveiled in a ceremony attended by notable dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the event was Upendrra Rai the Chairman, Managing Director, and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network. Paying homage to Harinarayan Rai Chaudhary, the chief guest offered floral tributes during the unveiling ceremony, which resonated with Vedic chants, creating a solemn atmosphere.

Awadh Kishore Rai, the school’s manager, expressed heartfelt sentiments and acknowledged Harinarayan Rai Chaudhary’s pivotal role as a mentor. Born on January 18, 1898, in Sherpur Kalan village, Chaudhary made an indelible mark with his invaluable contributions to Ashta Inter College School. Even after his retirement three decades ago, he remained dedicated to the college’s growth and development.

Ashta Shaheed Inter College has a glorious history

Founded on July 9, 1937, in the Ghazipur region, Ashta Shaheed Inter College holds a prestigious position as the sole intermediate college in the area. Harinarayan Rai Chaudhary initiated the college with just nine students. Over the years, the institution has garnered a glorious history, serving as the sole intermediate college within a 20 km radius. It attracted students not only from the district but also from the Ballia district. Graduates from Ashta Shaheed Inter College have gone on to achieve remarkable success, bringing honor to the nation.

Notably, former Vice President Hamid Ansari is among the distinguished alumni who received education at this esteemed institution. Harinarayan Rai Chaudhary’s dedication to the college remained unwavering, as he stayed connected with colleagues until the end of his life, ensuring the ongoing progress of Ashta Shaheed Inter College.
