Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai Honored With ‘Global Award for Excellence in Journalism’

Bharat Express CMD and Editor in Chief, Upendrra Rai has been honored with the ‘Global Award for Excellence in Journalism’. Upendrra Rai received this honor for his excellent work in the field of journalism at the Global Festival of Journalism organized at the International Journalism Centre.

Dr. Rachna, wife of Bharat Express CMD and Editor in Chief, received the award on his behalf. Dr. Rachna was invited to the Global Festival of Journalism program organized at Marwah Studio of New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida). During this time, veterans of the International Journalism Centre (IJC) were present there.

International Journalism Day

Officials of Marwah Studio, associated with the organization of the Global Festival of Journalism, said that February 12, 2024 was declared as International Journalism Day at the International Journalism Centre, Noida. Senior journalists said that journalism is directly related to collecting and disseminating of news. Journalism as we know it today has evolved over several hundred years as a result of technological advances as well as a reflection of changes in society. Good journalistic coverage provides a first draft of history by enabling the public to understand the meaning of events as they occur. Journalism exists the form of newspapers, radio, television and the World Wide Web/Internet.

Mass media: fourth pillar of democracy

Global Festival of Journalism, Noida is organized every year around 12 February to celebrate journalism. Debates, seminars and symposiums on the role, rights and responsibilities of journalists are organized with the aim of supporting emerging and established journalists in their work in various ways. The organizers of the Global Festival of Journalism Noida agree with the idea that mass media is the fourth pillar of democracy. During this event, print, radio, television and on-line journalists are honored for their remarkable work.
