The much-anticipated state-level day-night volleyball competition kicked off in Sherpur Kalan village, Bhanwarkol, with an exciting match between Prayagraj Sports Hostel and Jan E Railway.
The event was officially inaugurated by Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai, a senior journalist, who cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the competition. Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai also took a moment to greet the players and express his admiration for their dedication.
During the inauguration, Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai paid tribute to the eight martyrs from the region and highlighted the rich volleyball heritage of the area. “This land of immortal martyrs is flourishing in volleyball. The soil here has produced many national and international-level players who are making the country proud across the world,” Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai remarked.

Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai also emphasized the importance of such competitions, noting that they provide budding players with the chance to learn from experienced national-level athletes. “Victory and defeat are part of the game. If players maintain discipline and demonstrate their skills, success will follow,” he added.
The event saw significant participation from local figures including social worker Himanshu Rai, and community leaders such as Lallan Rai, Ajay Rai, Dinesh Rai Chaudhary, and Pdeep Singh Pappu, who were present to support the competition and encourage the players.
This competition not only provides a platform for emerging talent but also fosters community spirit and sportsmanship, paving the way for the next generation of volleyball stars.
