Bengaluru Man Arrested As He Bites Wife’s Finger During Argument, Attempts To Swallow It

In Bengaluru, a married couple’s scuffle took a horrifying turn when Vijay Kumar allegedly bit off and chewed his wife Pushpa’s finger. Consequently, Vijay has been arrested on charges of domestic violence, and the incident has been registered as a case against him.

Vijay and Pushpa, married for 23 years, have been living in separate houses due to frequent fights and misunderstandings. Vijay resides with their son in a different house, while Pushpa stays in rented accommodation.

According to Pushpa’s complaint filed at the Konanakunte police station on July 28, the incident unfolded when Vijay visited her rented house around 4 pm, leading to a heated argument between the couple.

During the altercation, Vijay allegedly committed the shocking act of biting off and chewing Pushpa’s left index finger, even attempting to swallow it. Furthermore, he threatened to kill his wife.
The authorities took immediate action based on the complaint, resulting in Vijay’s arrest. The officials are further investigating the incident to get more details on the matter.

Speaking of fights between husband and wife, a woman (Sonu) hailing from Gujarat has got her husband (Premchand Mali) incarcerated over seven times in less than 10 years for domestic violence. Following the arrest she would also step up as his guarantor and arrange for his release. Even though the couple started living separately, they remained entangled in a complicated web of fight, separation and reconciliation.

After a while, their fights got uglier, and Premchand got arrested every year between 2016-18. He was also imprisoned between 2019 and 2020 for failing to pay Sonu the alimony that the court had ordered him to pay after their first fight. The latest arrest took place earlier this year. Just like always, on July 4, Sonu once again secured his release. This time, Premchand discovered that his wallet and cell phone were missing. Subsequently, he confronted his wife on the matter, however, she denied having any knowledge of the whereabouts. The altercation between the couple escalated and they physically assaulted one another. Premchand left home and went off to live with his mother. Furthermore, he lodged a complaint against his wife and son for harming him.
