Basant Panchami 2023: The fair held in Prayagraj in the month of Magh has special significance. On the occasion of Basant Panchami, the fourth bathing festival of Magh Mela, a crowd of devotees was seen in Sangam city Prayagraj. There is an inundation of faith here from every corner of the country.
This morning, the process of bathing and donation of devotees is going on, at the Ghats of Sangam from Brahma Muhurt itself. Due to the drizzling rain at night, the cold has increased a lot. But today, on the day of Basant Panchami, the faith of the devotees remained strong. There is great enthusiasm among the devotees regarding the bathing festival on Basant Panchami, the day of Maa Saraswati. Devotees are reaching to bathe at the confluence of holy Ganga, Yamuna, and invisible Saraswati getting wet in the rain.
Students also reached Sangam on Basant Panchami
Every year Basant Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of Magh Shukla. The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning and music. That’s why a large number of students are also taking baths in Sangam and worshiping Saraswati. Basant Panchami is also considered a festival of education in Hinduism.
This day is also considered auspicious for Upnayan rituals. In ancient India, education was started on Gurukul from this day itself. It is a belief that by worshiping Maa Saraswati on this day, the sadhana of the Sadhus also gets fulfilled, then the students get the blessings of the mother and they get success with knowledge.
Special arrangements on the ghats of Prayagraj, monitoring through drones
The crowd of devotees, special arrangements have been made at the ghats of Sangam today. Along with deep water barricading, water police and SDRF have been deployed at the bathing ghats. 5000 policemen have been deployed for the security of the fair in Prayagraj. Apart from this, the fair is also being monitored with 200 CCTV cameras and several drones.
The security system has been tightened at the 16 entry points made in the Magh Mela. Today, in view of Republic Day, the administration is on high alert regarding the security of the fair. At the same time, special preparations have been made to celebrate Republic Day in the camps of saints.
