UP Police, Mumbai Police creates awareness about Consent
On the occasion of Holi, the Indian police departments of various states are being super creative with their social messaging. In order to spread awareness through trending reels, internet users are loving the transition to the new-age public service announcements, their posts have won hearts of the netizens.
The Uttar Pradesh Police and Mumbai Police have emphasized on the importance of ‘consent’ through their social media handles.
In a post shared by Uttar Pradesh Police on Instagram, the post said, “Balam pichkari jo ‘without consent’ mujhe maari, toh 1090 pe calling ho gayi.” The caption read, “Wishing a happy #Holi to all! Remember that consent is the key to keeping the festival vibrant. If you experience any harassment or assault, #Dial112 for police assistance,” along with the hashtag #HoliOverHooliganism.”
After the post netizens reacted to their post. A user said, “UP police got no chills.” Consent is the perfect thing,” said a second user.

Keeping the spirit high, Mumbai Police ha also shared a post on ‘consent.’ They posted a creative with a black background mentioning “Consent is Holy.” The caption read, “Colour with Consent cause #HolyHai! Have a happy & safe Holi, Mumbai.”
