After landing in Ahmedabad on his first visit to India, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spent Wednesday at the Sabarmati Ashram, a location closely connected to Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Anthony Albanese tweeted, “A true privilege to pay homage to Gandhi’s legacy at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad”, through his official Twitter handle.
The Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was welcomed at the airport by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who also accompanied the visiting leader during the Ashram tour.
As per schedule shared by authorities, the Australian leader attended a Holi programme at Raj Bhavan later in the evening.
“Honoured to celebrate Holi in Ahmedabad, India. Holi’s message of renewal through the triumph of good over evil is an enduring reminder for all of us”, he added in another tweet.
“No matter what your faith is or where you’ve come from—we celebrate and value what unites us”, tweeted in another tweet. He wished, “Happy Holi to everyone who celebrated at home in Australia”.
