A 43-year-old habitual offender, hailed from Chennai, was apprehended for groping two women. The accused, identified as Prakash, worked at a mobile repair shop in Anna Nagar and was incarcerated after a complaint was lodged against him at the MKB Nagar police station. Prakash confessed to targeting over 100 women so far during the inquest. The surveillance cameras installed in many areas aided in tracking him down.
Two women, who became a victim of his groping, approached the MKB Nagar Police station and filed a complaint against the unknown man who escaped after conducting the atrocious act. Subsequently, the police checked the surveillance cameras of the vicinity which led to the arrest of Prakash, a resident of Vyasarpadi.
As per the officials, several similar complaints were obtained from Kodungaiyur and Perambur where women shared analogous descriptions of the perpetrator. During the probe, Prakash admitted that he has groped over 100 women and would get involved in such acts when he saw women returning from work. Following this, he was presented before the Magistrate court and sent to judicial custody.

Earlier this month, a 40-year-old man named Deepak Purohit was arrested in Mumbai for groping a woman inside an autorickshaw. The victim reported the incident to the police a day later since she had to attend work. The authorities swiftly caught Purohit on the same day by examining surveillance footage that captured the act.
