Army eliminates 2 terrorists in Operation Balakot
Army Launches Operation Balakot: Following a fierce night long encounter in Poonch district, Indian Army foiled major infiltration bid gunning down at least 2 terrorists trying to infiltrate from Pakistan.
Balakote sector of Poonch witnessed the encounter in which two terrorists’ bodies were recovered along with 2 AK-47 rifles, pistols, Chinese grenades and 2 IEDs.
Army Launches Operation Balakot: Search for more bodies is underway but they may have been taken back by rest of infiltrating terrorists. In the encounter throughout the night, Army’s quick reaction teams used night enabled Quad copters to prevent the infiltration through the dense Balakot forests.
Speaking to Bharat Express, Brigadier Acharya Sector Commander said that Indian Army continues to remain alert on the Line of Control to counter any attempt by inimical forces to disturb the peace and harmony in Kashmir.
Foiling the infiltration where Army killed 2 terrorists and recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along with arms and ammunition from the possession of the terrorists in the Balakot sector of Poonch district. On the other hand one more injured person succumbed to his injuries who was hurt during the Rajouri attack.
It was Saturday evening when on the border fence in Balakot, Army troops noticed suspicious movement. Then immediately coming into action Army personnel neutralised two terrorists in Balakot, District Poonch (J&K).
“Indian Army foiled a major Infiltration attempt. Thus in Rajouri and Poonch Districts our security forces continue the operations to nab terrorists involved in the Dhangri attack,” the Army says in a statement.
” The area around Balakot sector has been cordoned off and the operation is in progress,” the statement reads further.

Significantly the same modus operandi was used by the Pakistani infiltrators which was seen in the Rajouri attack in which the IED was used.
The death toll, meanwhile in the Rajouri terror attack has reached 7 after one person under hospital treatment succumbed to his injuries.
