Arhan Bagati, founder of Kashmir’s Yumberzal Applied Research Institute (KYARI), has been recognized with the prestigious HT 30 Under 30 Award in the Social Impact Leadership category.
A KYARI spokesperson stated, “This recognition marks a significant acknowledgment of Arhan Bagati’s transformative contributions to the socio-economic development of Jammu & Kashmir and his broader work in public policy and social innovation.”
The ceremony, held at Mumbai’s ITC Grand Central on 21 February, celebrated young changemakers across various fields.
Due to academic commitments at Harvard University, Bagati’s parents accepted the award on his behalf, marking a proud moment for his family and the region.
Under Arhan Bagati’s leadership, KYARI has spearheaded multiple impactful initiatives.
The organization introduced e-rickshaws in Srinagar to promote eco-friendly transport while creating employment for marginalized communities.
It has also actively advocated for the rights of Bakkarwal Tribal Pastoralists and launched youth-focused anti-drug abuse campaigns to protect Kashmir’s future.
Paralympic Committee of India president Devendra Jhajharia acknowledged Arhan Bagati’s contributions and congratulated him on securing a place in the HT 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact Leadership. He praised Bagati’s dedication to supporting para-athletes and strengthening the Paralympic movement, appreciating his efforts in empowering and uplifting the community.
The Paralympic Committee of India also congratulated its Awareness & Impact Ambassador, Arhan Bagati, for earning a spot in the prestigious HT 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact Leadership in a post on X.
KYARI has played a crucial role in promoting tourism and cultural preservation in the valley.
The institute has been working to re-establish Kashmir as a key destination for Bollywood and other film industries, helping boost the local economy while showcasing the region’s rich heritage.
A KYARI spokesperson further emphasized the organization’s commitment to long-term development, stating, “KYARI remains dedicated to revitalizing Kashmir through impactful, research-driven initiatives and aims to expand its work to reach more communities across the valley.”
