Andhra Pradesh Scaling New Heights Under Naidu: PM Modi Extends Birthday Wishes

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed birthday greetings to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, commending his role in driving the state’s growth.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Best wishes to Andhra Pradesh’s hardworking Chief Minister and my good friend, Shri Chandrababu Naidu Garu. Under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh is scaling new heights of progress across all sectors. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people.”

N Chandrababu Naidu, a veteran politician, has had a long career marked by both achievements and political challenges. He began his journey in the 1970s with the Congress before later joining the Telugu Desam Party, where he rose to prominence.

Naidu first became Chief Minister in 1995 and gained recognition for introducing economic reforms and promoting technology-driven governance. His tenure saw efforts to modernise infrastructure and attract investment, particularly in sectors such as information technology and industry.

One of his key contributions was the development of Hyderabad as a major technology centre, helping position it alongside leading Indian cities in the IT sector.

Despite electoral setbacks in later years, including defeats in 2004 and 2019, Naidu remained active in politics and continued to rebuild his party’s presence.

Following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, he focused on rebuilding the state’s economy and proposed Amaravati as a new capital, though the project faced multiple challenges.

In recent times, Naidu has regained political momentum. In the 2024 elections, he led a successful alliance that secured significant victories, reinforcing his position both within the state and at the national level.
