On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss critical financial assistance required for the state’s development and infrastructure projects.
The meeting, which lasted for half an hour, focused on Andhra Pradesh’s urgent financial needs amidst a challenging economic environment.
CM Naidu elaborated on the state’s requirements, particularly emphasizing the completion of the Amaravati capital project and the Polavaram irrigation project.
CM Naidu highlighted these priorities to PM Modi, seeking the Centre’s support and collaboration as they prepare to present the Union Budget for 2024-25 later this month.
As a crucial ally of the BJP-led NDA government, Naidu submitted a detailed memorandum outlining specific areas where assistance is crucial for the state’s progress.
“This meeting marks our first interaction since I assumed office on June 13,” CM Naidu stated after the meeting, underscoring the importance of federal cooperation in addressing Andhra Pradesh’s developmental challenges.
Prior to meeting PM Modi, CM Naidu held discussions with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, focusing on avenues for economic growth and prosperity through collaborative efforts with the Centre.
Taking to X, Piyush Goyal posted, “Delighted to meet the dynamic Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, @NCbN Garu, whose leadership has re-energised Andhra’s development journey. Discussed how the NDA government led by PM @NarendraModi ji can aid in ushering in an era of prosperity & growth for the State.”
Accompanying CM Naidu were Union Ministers K. Ram Mohan Naidu (Civil Aviation) and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar (Rural Development and Communication), reflecting a concerted effort to garner support across various sectors.
Further engagements are planned as CM Naidu is scheduled to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to deliberate on additional state-related matters.
