Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security assessment meeting in Bikaner on Tuesday and introduced a comprehensive ‘360-degree security plan’ for Rajasthan’s border districts adjoining Pakistan.
The initiative aims to curb infiltration, narcotics trafficking, cyber fraud, illegal financial networks, and unlawful activities operating along the sensitive frontier.
Senior representatives from the Border Security Force (BSF), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the Rajasthan Police, and several state and central agencies attended the strategic deliberations.
District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police from Rajasthan’s five border districts also participated in the review.
The Home Minister instructed authorities to enforce a strict ‘zero tolerance’ approach against illegal constructions within 15 kilometres of the India-Pakistan border.
Officials must identify and demolish unauthorised structures that could threaten national security.
Shah directed the BSF and state agencies to intensify coordination under a joint border management mechanism. He emphasised stronger surveillance operations and seamless intelligence-sharing to prevent infiltration and narcotics smuggling across the border belt.
The government also granted District Magistrates expanded authority to act swiftly against shell companies, suspicious financial dealings, and mule accounts allegedly linked to cyber fraud and unlawful funding networks.
Authorities will additionally investigate fake Aadhaar cards and dubious financial operations in vulnerable border regions.
Officials reviewed measures to combat cybercrime and stressed the effective utilisation of the national cybercrime helpline ‘1930’ for rapid public assistance.
Shah also ordered the strict implementation of the country’s new criminal laws through closer coordination between district administrations, police units, and central agencies.
