On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Bihar as part of the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections. He will likely conduct a series of meetings aimed at energising party workers and refining the campaign plan.
According to party officials, Shah will address two major sessions during the visit:
Between 2,000 and 2,500 participants, including district presidents, legislators and senior leaders, are likely to attend.
The Bihar BJP has divided the state into five zones, with Shah’s outreach to consolidate the party’s position across these regions ahead of the polls.
Alongside this, the BJP will begin a door-to-door campaign from Thursday, running until 25 September.
During the drive, booth-level workers and leaders will engage with residents to highlight the benefits of both central and state government schemes.
On the same day, Shah has also been invited by the Bihar State Religious Trust Council to a gathering of priests, saints and sadhus at Patna’s Bapu Auditorium, though his attendance has not yet been officially confirmed.
Later in the month, on 27 September, Shah is likely to hold another round of talks with state BJP leaders focusing on seat distribution, candidate selection and the party’s overall election strategy.
Party sources suggest that the BJP and its allies are considering contesting close to 225 seats this time.
Shah’s visit comes shortly after the Prime Minister inaugurated the interim terminal building of the new civil enclave at Purnea airport and launched development projects worth Rs 36,000 crore.
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary were present at the event, described as a major boost to Bihar’s infrastructure ahead of the elections.
