Amit Shah To Visit Bastar On Oct 4 For Dussehra, Tribal Meet And Naxal

Union Minister Amit Shah will visit Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region on October 4 to attend Dussehra celebrations and key meetings. He will join the traditional Muria Darbar, a historic tribal council, to dine with the tribal priests, including the Manjhi, Gayta, and Perma.

The Bastar MP extended the invitation, the Dussehra Committee President, and respected tribal elders, locally known as Manjhis.

Deputy CM Vijay Sharma confirmed Shah’s itinerary, citing its cultural depth and strategic national importance in Bastar.

The Muria Darbar symbolises tribal unity and wisdom, where the Shah’s presence will reflect outreach and cultural appreciation from Delhi.

After the Gathering, Shah will visit Swadeshi Mela in Jagdalpur, a fair promoting local crafts and indigenous economic self-reliance.

His visit aims to boost artisan morale and promote PM Modi’s vision of ‘Vocal For Local’ across tribal India. Security will be another major focus, with Shah scheduled to chair a high-level review with anti-Naxal force commanders.

Discussions will revolve around recent progress and a clear roadmap to eradicate Left-Wing Extremism from the region by 2026.

Deputy CM Sharma reiterated the state’s firm goal: eliminate Naxal violence by March 31, 2026, without any compromise.

Shah’s Bastar trip blends culture, strategy, message of inclusion, development, and firm governance in tribal heartlands.

The region, long affected by insurgency, now sees renewed hope with this high-profile visit and administrative follow-through.

Preparations are in full swing in Jagdalpur, where local leaders and communities are welcoming Amit Shah with pride. The Central’s dual focus, tribal welfare and security takes the spotlight as Shah engages with Bastar’s soul directly.
