Amit Shah To Review Rajasthan Border Security During Two-Day Bikaner Visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Bikaner, Rajasthan, on Monday for a two-day tour to review border security and development works in border districts. He will chair a high-level meeting on anti-infiltration measures, surveillance and inter-agency coordination amid concerns over narcotics smuggling and hybrid threats.

Shah will also visit the Sanchu border outpost and interact with BSF personnel on security challenges and border management strategies.

Arjun Ram Meghwal described the visit as highly significant for Rajasthan’s border security framework, adding that the Home Minister’s interaction with BSF officials and other agencies would help strengthen coordination and assess developmental requirements in border districts.

Ahead of the visit, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas conducted a detailed review meeting at the Secretariat to evaluate administrative preparedness, security arrangements and coordination among departments. He directed all concerned agencies to maintain close coordination and ensure robust security mechanisms in vulnerable zones.

The review also covered law and order, narcotics trafficking control, drone surveillance systems and inter-agency cooperation.

Senior officials from the BSF, Narcotics Control Bureau, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Department of Telecommunications and Border Roads Organisation attended the meeting to ensure seamless coordination ahead of the Home Minister’s visit.

The visit highlights the Centre’s continued focus on strengthening border management, improving infrastructure and enhancing national security preparedness in strategically important regions of Rajasthan.
