Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will spend the second day of his Gujarat visit in Kutch on Friday, where he will review security arrangements along the India-Pakistan border and interact with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel deployed in the region.
As part of his visit, Shah will inaugurate Border Outpost G-7 near Bhuj and meet BSF jawans stationed in the sensitive border area. He will also attend the Prahari Conference organised by the BSF.
Later, the Home Minister will inspect the control room at OP Tower-1170 and review surveillance and monitoring systems used along the border.
Officials said he will observe live feeds from PTZ surveillance cameras installed across the marshy terrain of Kutch to strengthen border monitoring operations.
Shah will also travel to the strategically important Harami Nala region in the Rann of Kutch for a boat visit of the creek area.
During the visit, the Minister will participate in a tree plantation programme at the jetty point.
Located near the Sir Creek region along the India-Pakistan border, Harami Nala remains one of the most sensitive stretches due to risks of infiltration, smuggling and unauthorised boat movement. Security agencies continue to maintain strict vigilance in the area.
In the afternoon, Shah will chair a high-level meeting on border-related issues at the BSF Sector Headquarters in Bhuj.
Senior BSF officers and security officials will attend the meeting to discuss border preparedness, surveillance infrastructure and inter-agency coordination.
The Kutch visit forms part of Amit Shah’s multi-state tour covering Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tripura and West Bengal to assess security preparedness along India’s borders.
Earlier this week, Shah reviewed security arrangements in Rajasthan and stressed the need for stronger vigilance and coordination.
