Amit Shah To Release White Paper On TMC Government In West Bengal Today

Amit Shah will likely release a ‘White Paper’ on Saturday outlining allegations against the All India Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal. He is likely to address the media at noon and will make the document public, with party leaders describing it as a ‘chargesheet’.

According to a BJP state committee member, the report is to detail alleged governance lapses, corruption, nepotism, and incidents of violence during the tenure of the Trinamool Congress government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

HM Shah reached Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport early on Saturday after adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, delayed his flight.

The aircraft, initially scheduled to land late on Friday night, remained airborne before finally touching down after midnight.

Prior to his visit, HM Shah had raised concerns over controversies linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in West Bengal.

“Why is West Bengal the only poll-bound state witnessing such controversies over SIR?” Shah remarked.

He further said, “In states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu, which are also ruled by non-BJP parties, there has not been a single controversy. There was no appointment of judicial officers there, and no political party staged protests.”

Shah’s remarks come against the backdrop of recent developments in the electoral revision process.

The Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal released a second supplementary list of cases referred for judicial scrutiny on their websites late on Friday night.

Authorities had not disclosed official figures on the number of cases processed or the names proposed for exclusion as of Saturday morning.

HM Shah’s visit and the release of the White Paper will likely intensify the political discourse in the state ahead of the upcoming elections.
