Amit Shah To Launch Bharat Taxi Under Cooperative Model In Gujarat

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will kick off Saturday’s engagements by inaugurating Bharat Taxi (Gujarat) at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar.

Developed under the Ministry of Cooperation, the platform adopts the ‘Saarthi Hi Maalik’ model, enabling drivers to own a stake in the service while operating through a commission-free digital transport system.

After the launch, Shah will preside over the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Circuit House in Sector-20, Gandhinagar.

The committee will evaluate the implementation of Central government welfare schemes and review the progress of development projects with elected representatives and senior officials.

The Union Minister will later travel to Ahmedabad to conduct two separate meetings on the Green Lok Sabha programme in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. He will first review the initiative with government officials before holding discussions with organisational representatives on the progress of the Samuhik Vriksharopan (collective tree plantation) campaign.

The programme forms part of the wider Green Gandhinagar campaign, which seeks to expand green spaces, improve environmental sustainability and complement ongoing civic and infrastructure development.

In the evening, Shah will meet residents at a Janata Darbar organised at Swaminarayan International School in the Raniip area.

Citizens from the Raniip and Sabarmati wards will have an opportunity to present local concerns and seek resolutions to constituency-related issues.

The Minister’s itinerary highlights the government’s focus on strengthening the cooperative movement, monitoring the delivery of public welfare schemes, promoting environmental conservation, and maintaining direct communication with citizens through regular public interactions.
