Amit Shah To Inaugurate SSB Border Outpost In Araria During Bihar Visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Araria on Thursday to inaugurate a Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) border outpost in the Letti area.

The visit forms part of his three-day tour of Bihar, centred on strengthening border security and reviewing administrative preparedness in the Seemanchal region.

Shah will also assess development initiatives under the centrally sponsored Vibrant Villages Programme in border districts.

After arriving in Purnea on Wednesday to a warm reception, the Home Minister travelled by helicopter to Kishanganj. There, he chaired a review meeting at the district Collectorate to evaluate the prevailing situation and coordination among officials.

In Araria, following the inauguration of the Letti border outpost, Shah will hold a detailed meeting at the Araria Collectorate with district magistrates and superintendents of police from seven border districts.

Discussions will focus on issues concerning the India-Nepal border and the progress of the Vibrant Villages Programme.

On February 27, Shah will likely meet officials again in Purnea for further deliberations on border-related matters before departing for New Delhi.

The Seemanchal region, located near the Nepal and Bangladesh borders, remains central to the Home Minister’s engagements.

The visit reinforces border security, monitors key development schemes and ensures administrative coordination in sensitive districts.

Authorities have put comprehensive security arrangements in place for the high-level tour.

The outreach is also viewed as a continuation of the Home Ministry’s focus following its ‘Naxal-Mukt Bharat’ initiative, with emphasis on making Seemanchal ‘infiltrator-free’.

Shah has toured the region multiple times in recent years, underlining its strategic importance.
