Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the AAP government and Congress leaders during a massive rally in the Kalkaji constituency on Tuesday. He accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of spreading lies and failing to deliver on promises, while also criticizing Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge for disrespecting Sanatan Dharam.
During his address, Shah vehemently refuted Kejriwal’s allegations that Haryana had released “poisoned” water into the Yamuna River. He challenged the Delhi Chief Minister to provide concrete evidence to support his claims. “I want to ask residents of Kalkaji if anyone is receiving poisoned water in their taps. Delhi Jal Board officials themselves have confirmed that Kejriwal is lying,” Shah asserted.
He issued three direct challenges to Kejriwal: produce proof of Haryana poisoning Yamuna water, identify the alleged poison, and present the order stopping the river’s water supply to Delhi. Shah accused Kejriwal of engaging in “politics of lies” and urged Kalkaji residents to question AAP’s candidate, Atishi, on the matter.
Shah reassured the public, promising that a BJP-led government in Delhi would not discontinue any welfare scheme. He accused AAP of using Covid-19 as an excuse for their failure to fulfill poll promises. “It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee that no welfare scheme will be stopped by the BJP government,” Shah declared.

Shah lambasted Kejriwal for breaking promises made during the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare.
Referring to the construction of Kejriwal’s Rs 51-crore “Sheesh Mahal,” Shah remarked, “The money spent on this extravagant residence, with 16 TVs and Italian marble, could have been used to build schools or add hospital beds.” He further accused the AAP government of prioritizing dubious liquor policies over public welfare.
The Home Minister criticized the AAP government for failing to clean Delhi’s air, improve water supply, and increase hospital beds. He challenged Kejriwal to take a dip in the polluted Yamuna and answer for the alleged Rs 2,000 crore liquor scam.
Shah’s Kalkaji rally was part of a series of public meetings to bolster support for BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to honesty and governance, contrasting it with AAP’s alleged corruption and inefficiency.
On Tuesday, Shah participated in roadshows across Kalkaji and neighboring constituencies, accompanied by New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj. His public engagements set the stage for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in North East Delhi’s Ghonda constituency on Wednesday.
The voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. Shah’s fiery speeches and public appearances signal the BJP’s determination to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
