Amit Shah Says BJP Government Ended Paper Leak Culture In Rajasthan Police Exams

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Rajasthan government has put an end to the long-standing problem of paper leaks in police recruitment examinations, a malpractice he attributed to the earlier Congress regime.

He also praised Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma for strengthening law and order and fostering a climate conducive to investment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a programme to distribute appointment letters to nearly 9,000 Rajasthan Police constables, including more than 2,500 women, Shah said the state had witnessed significant improvements in governance and public safety since the change in government.

Crime Rates Fall, Recruitment Turns Transparent

The Union Home Minister said the BJP-led government has not only ended the era of paper leaks but has also reduced the overall crime rate in Rajasthan by 14 per cent. He cited a sharp decline across several categories of crime, including a 47 per cent drop in dacoities, 51 per cent in loots, 25 per cent in murders, 19 per cent in attempts to murder, 10 per cent in crimes against women, and 28 per cent in crimes against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Commending the completion of the constable recruitment process in a transparent and merit-based manner, Shah said, “A state can progress only when it promotes youth based on merit.”

He also urged newly recruited personnel to effectively implement the new criminal laws introduced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ensuring speedy justice. Referring to their impact,

HM Shah said, “With the introduction of the three new criminal laws, the prosecution rate in Rajasthan has increased from 41 per cent to 60 per cent, and I am confident that there is no hurdle in taking it to 85 per cent to ensure that all criminals remain behind bars.”

Earlier in the day, Shah appealed to citizens to adopt ‘Make in India’ products, calling it essential for achieving the Prime Minister’s goal of a self-reliant India and becoming the world’s largest economy. Speaking at the Maheshwari Global Convention and Expo-2026 in Jodhpur, he said national progress depends on the use of indigenous products.

Praising the Maheshwari community for its contribution to the nation, Shah said, “Both in India and abroad, if a community remains connected to its roots, it is commendable. The Maheshwari community has always risen to the occasion whenever the country needed support. When fighting against the Mughals, the community contributed significantly to the royal treasuries and the Independence struggle, including funding the efforts of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi.”
