Amit Shah Praises NCB As Greater Noida Drug Labs Are Busted, Narcotics Worth Rs 45 Crore Seized

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has commended the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after its officers uncovered two suspected illegal drug laboratories in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and detained two alleged traffickers.

The agency recovered 379.740 kg of amphetamine-containing material, which officials estimate could yield approximately 56 kg of crystalline amphetamine. They have placed its indicative illicit market value at around Rs 45 crore.

Shah highlighted the seizure of synthetic substances, precursor chemicals and laboratory machinery in a post on X.

He also cited the operation as an example of intelligence-based enforcement and reaffirmed the government’s stated goal of dismantling drug cartels by December 2029 under the Narcotics Control Vision Document 2026–2029.

NCB Identifies Two Arrested Suspects

Following specific intelligence inputs, NCB officers raided two rented properties in Jahanabad Kadalpur village in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Friday.

According to the agency, the occupants had allegedly adapted the premises to manufacture and process synthetic drugs.

The NCB named the arrested suspects as Destiny Abraham Dumbiri, who claimed Nigerian nationality, and Lallawmzuali, also known as Olivia Lalchawimawii, from Mizoram.

Immigration records cited by the agency show that Dumbiri entered India in January 2020 using the name Francis Kalokoh and claiming Sierra Leonean nationality. He held a tourist visa that remained valid until December 2020.

Olivia had also faced arrest in a Directorate of Revenue Intelligence investigation after officials recovered 313 grams of heroin-containing powder from her checked-in baggage at Dabolim Airport in Goa in March 2026. She is currently out on bail.

The NCB seized 4.260 kg of crystalline, 157.700 kg of semi-crystalline and 217.780 kg of liquid amphetamine-containing material.

Officers also recovered 10 kg of pseudoephedrine and chemicals including hydrochloric acid, acetone, toluene, sulphuric acid and potassium permanganate.

The premises housed heating mantles, glass reaction vessels, chemical storage drums, filtration systems, weighing scales, respirators and other laboratory equipment.
