Amit Shah Joins Ganeshotsav Maha Aarti In Ahmedabad; Festival Surplus Funds Welfare Scheme

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the Maha Aarti at the Vastrapur na Maha Ganpati Ganeshotsav in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

They visited the pandal near Vastrapur Lake and offered prayers for the happiness and prosperity of citizens.

The venue features an eight-foot clay idol of Lord Ganesha, while organisers designed the pandal around the Kashi Ghats theme. Shah and Patel performed the Maha Aarti and reviewed the festival arrangements.

Sardar Patel Sevadal has organised the Ganeshotsav near Vastrapur Lake for the past 41 years.

The annual celebration attracts large crowds with its changing themes, decorations and distinctive Ganesha idol displays.

According to the organisers, the surplus funds generated from the festival support the Riddhi-Siddhi Pregnant Women Scheme.

The initiative has so far distributed more than 15,000 nutritious kits to pregnant women, with expenditure exceeding ₹1 crore.

During their visit, Shah and Patel appreciated the Kashi Ghat-themed decorations and took darshan of Lord Ganesha. Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot, City BJP President Prerak Shah, Corporation Water Committee Chairman Dharamshi Desai and other dignitaries were also present.

Earlier, Chief Minister Patel visited a Ganeshotsav pandal at Tarun Nagar-2 in Memnagar, located in his Ghatlodia Assembly constituency.

He offered prayers, participated in the Aarti and appreciated the theme and arrangements.

Organisers had created a rangoli depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s face to mark his birthday and lit lamps as part of the celebrations.

Patel viewed the artwork, greeted devotees and interacted with children during his visit. Several social and political leaders were also present.
