In a phone discussion with HM Amit Shah assured CM Dhami to provide support for the rescue in the state. Uttarakhand has been devastated by cloudbursts that have left many people trapped.
The Home Minister’s call was reported by Chief Minister Dhami on his social media account, X.
CM Dhami mentioned, “Honourable Minister of Home Affairs and Co-operation Minister, Mr. Amit Shah, called to get updates about the disaster in various parts of the state. During the call, he was given detailed information about the relief and rescue operations being conducted on a war footing in the affected areas.”

“The Honourable Home Minister assured all possible assistance for the safety of the state’s residents and devotees. Standing firm during such a difficult time of disaster provides us all with strength. Thank you very much, Honorable Home Minister, for your guidance!” he added.
Wednesday night, a 30-meter section close to Bhimbali was damaged by a cloudburst. In addition, the Mandakini River’s water level has increased.
Heavy nighttime rains in state took 12 lives that led to house collapses and flooding. The dead included three members of a family. There are currently rescue efforts underway for stranded pilgrims on the Kedarnath hike.
On the first day of the operation, 700 pilgrims were saved by helicopter and 3,300 people were evacuated using foot paths.
The Army’s MI 17 helicopter located and rescued the trapped pilgrims, bringing them to Gauchar.
Four thousand trapped pilgrims are scheduled to be rescued on Friday, the second day of the rescue effort.
Helicopters and rescue crews from the SDRF, NDRF, and district police are helping to free those who are stuck in different locations.
