Amarnath Yatra 2023: Grand success of Amarnath Yatra, So Far 4,28,318 Pilgrims Visited Holy Cave

The 62 days long Shri Amarnath Yatra 2023, which commenced on July 1 and is scheduled to terminate on August 31, has so far seen 4,28,318 pilgrims paying obeisance at the holy cave till day 41 (August 10), which has already surpassed last year’s total of 3,04,493 pilgrims last year.

While shivlinga in the holy cave melted on July 23, the devotees continued to visit the holy cave even though the daily numbers of late have come down.

Amidst elaborate security arrangements by J&K Police, CAPFs, and UT administration, the yatra has been incident free with excellent arrangements for langar, health care, sanitation, and transportation.

Hi-tech equipments including drones, advanced technical instruments, etc were deployed while quick response teams, avalanche rescue teams, medical teams and NDRF teams have ensured safe passage of devotees in the difficult mountainous terrain.

The yatra also witnessed foreign pilgrims from USA, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea. Several distinguished personalities from various walks of life including badminton player Saina Nehwal, Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, and spiritual guru Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami etc also visited the holy cave.

Commemoration of Kargil Diwas was also honoured at all Yatra base camps.

The weather has also been favourable, by and large, so far and compared to unfortunate death of 71 yatris last year, 44 yatris have lost their lives this year so far due to health-related reasons.
The RFID management has also been robust this year despite the huge rush of pilgrims.
