Allahabad HC Refuses To Cancel SC Certificate Of MP Chhote Lal Kharwar

The Allahabad High Court has declined to intervene in a petition seeking the cancellation of the Scheduled Caste certificate issued to MP Chhote Lal Kharwar, who represents the Robertsganj Lok Sabha seat in Sonbhadra district. The court has, however, directed that a reasoned order be passed on the petitioner’s complaint within ten weeks.

This decision was made by a division bench comprising Justice Shekhar B. Saraf and Justice V.C. Dixit. The petition was filed by Indrajit and was argued by advocate Abhishek Kumar Choubey.

The petition addressed the alleged inaction of the authorities regarding a complaint dated May 22, 2024, which called for the cancellation of caste certificate of Chhote Lal Kharwar. The complaint labeled the certificate issued from Naugarh Tehsil of Chakia as erroneous.

The court’s directive aims to ensure that the petitioner’s concerns are duly heard and resolved in a timely manner.
