The victim, currently residing in Mumbai, stated in her complaint that she first met the accused through social media in 2017. The initial incident of sexual assault allegedly occurred at the accused’s residence in Bandra in July 2019, and subsequent assaults followed. The woman claimed that the accused coerced her by threatening to jeopardize her professional assignments and also used intimate pictures to blackmail her.
Despite the accused marrying another woman in 2020, he allegedly persisted in sending inappropriate messages and making explicit demands. The victim’s complaint led to the filing of a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and 506 (criminal intimidation). The police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
