AIIA Marks International Yoga Day 2026 With Programmes At Supreme Court, Delhi Campus

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, organised a series of Yoga programmes at multiple locations to mark International Yoga Day 2026. The Ministry of Ayush promoted this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, across the country.

A special Yoga session took place at the Supreme Court of India, where the Chief Justice of India attended as the chief guest.

During the event, the CJI participated in a collective Yoga session along with AIIA officials, faculty members, and officers and staff of the Supreme Court.

AIIA Director Prof (Vaidya) PK Prajapati was specially present at the programme. Under his guidance, Yoga experts, faculty members from the Panchakarma Department and other departments conducted the session and informed participants about the health-promoting and scientific benefits of Yoga.

About AIIA

AIIA, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Ayush, provides treatment through Ayurveda and other traditional Indian systems of medicine. The institute also promotes higher education, research, training and Ayurveda at the global level.

The institute also operates an Ayurveda unit within the Supreme Court premises, providing Ayurvedic consultation and treatment services to court officials and employees.

Earlier in the day, AIIA organised a large Yoga camp at its Sarita Vihar campus in New Delhi. More than 1,000 vaidyas, Yoga practitioners, students, trainees, faculty members and staff participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, Prof Prajapati emphasised that Yoga should be adopted as a way of life rather than being limited to a single day of observance. He encouraged citizens to practise Yoga regularly throughout the year, stating that consistent practice supports healthy and active ageing, mental balance and overall well-being.

The programme also featured a Yoga Fusion presentation by AIIA students, creatively highlighting the connection between Yoga, Indian culture and holistic health.

Through these initiatives, AIIA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Yoga, healthy lifestyles and the message of ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’ across society.
