Adani University held its first convocation ceremony on Saturday, celebrating the accomplishments of its graduates while reaffirming its commitment to research and innovation in life sciences. Dr. Priti Adani, President of Adani University, highlighted the institution’s alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India), showcasing the transformative power of education.
However, in her address, Dr. Adani urged graduates to view failures as stepping stones to success, stating, “Failures simply help put you on the path to greater progress.” She emphasized the importance of perseverance and resilience, encouraging the new graduates to serve as ambassadors for their alma mater and apply their knowledge for societal betterment.
Moreover, Dr. Adani further stressed the need for graduates to embrace changes and challenges in the professional world. She asserted that excellence, driven by knowledge, tenacity, and intelligence, will set them apart in their careers.
The convocation featured a keynote address from Padma Shri Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai, a renowned environmental educator and the Founder and Director of the Centre for Environment Education (CEE). Sarabhai encouraged graduates to reflect on the challenges they will face and the skills necessary for navigating them effectively.
In addition, he underscored the importance of inclusivity in development, urging future leaders to engage with communities and collaborate with various stakeholders. He also addressed the impact of technological disruption, advocating that technology should serve to empower rather than exclude.
A total of 69 post-graduate students from MBA programs in infrastructure management and energy management, along with MTech students in construction engineering and management, received their degrees. Notably, four outstanding students were honored with Gold Medals for their exemplary performance, further marking the beginning of their journeys as proud representatives of Adani University.
Professor Ravi P Singh, Provost of Adani University, reflected on the institution’s achievements over the past year, stating, “We have reached significant milestones at Adani University.” He noted that partnerships with professionals from the Adani Group enhance the educational experience, allowing students to gain practical insights through site visits and capstone projects.
