The system, integrated onto a single 4×4 vehicle, incorporates cutting-edge technologies to ensure highly mobile and agile defense. It features a high-energy laser system for precise drone neutralization, a 7.62 mm gun for engaging aerial threats, and advanced radar, SIGINT (Signals Intelligence), electro-optical sensors, and jammers. This combination allows for real-time target acquisition, tracking, and neutralization of drones within a 10 km range, making the system a formidable asset for modern defense forces.
The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System provides seamless protection through its automatic detection, classification, and neutralization capabilities, all integrated into a single platform. The system’s agility and reliability ensure rapid response and operational flexibility, essential for safeguarding India’s critical defence infrastructure. With its compact and mobile design, the system promises to enhance the capabilities of India’s armed forces in countering evolving drone threats.
Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, emphasized the significance of the collaboration. “This unveiling is a testament to the success of India’s defense innovation ecosystem, driven by DRDO’s world-class R&D and the Transfer of Technology (ToT) framework. Adani Defence & Aerospace is proud to transform DRDO’s cutting-edge technology into an operationally ready solution. Our advanced manufacturing capabilities ensure that our armed forces have access to the best indigenous defense technologies to protect the nation’s strategic interests,” said Rajvanshi.
Dr. BK Das of DRDO also highlighted the importance of this development in strengthening India’s defense against asymmetric threats. “The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System integrates multiple counter-drone technologies into a mobile platform, ensuring rapid response and operational flexibility. DRDO remains committed to advancing indigenous, next-generation solutions to enhance national security,” said Dr. Das.
The launch of this system underscores India’s growing capability to develop cutting-edge defense technologies, reducing reliance on foreign imports and bolstering national security. As unmanned aerial threats continue to evolve, this collaboration between Adani Defence & Aerospace and DRDO marks a significant milestone in the nation’s defense readiness.
