She said, “Jharkhand is the land of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. I am thrilled to welcome the Prime Minister on a day when we celebrate Karma festival. This festival represents the bond of love between brothers and sisters, where they fast and pray for each other’s health and success.”
Kujur mentioned that they initially faced security restrictions at the airport but were allowed after explaining the ritual’s significance. She shared that PM Modi showed interest in the tradition and its cultural importance.
“He asked about who receives Jahva,” Kujur noted. “I explained that sisters usually apply it to their brothers. It was an honor to apply it to his ears. Our community is overjoyed.”
She added that she thanked PM Modi for his work supporting women and sisters across the country. Modi appreciated the gesture and acknowledged that such support helps him work longer hours for their welfare.
