Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that his party will independently contest all 90 assembly seats in Haryana, while the Lok Sabha polls will be part of the INDIA bloc. The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled for April-May, followed by the assembly elections later in the year. Kejriwal, addressing a ‘Badlaav Jansabha’ in Haryana’s Jind, expressed that Haryana seeks a significant change, citing the success of AAP in Delhi and Punjab.
The AAP leader emphasized the people’s trust in his party and their desire for change in Haryana. Kejriwal criticized other parties, alleging that they have only filled their coffers without delivering essential services. He highlighted AAP’s achievements in Delhi and Punjab, claiming that only his party can provide continuous power supply and other facilities.
While AAP plans to contest all Haryana assembly seats independently, Kejriwal stated that they will join the INDIA bloc for the Lok Sabha polls. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also attended the event.
Taking a swipe at the BJP-JJP coalition government in Haryana, Kejriwal questioned the ruling parties’ ability to deliver services comparable to AAP. He accused the BJP-led Centre of using various agencies to target him but asserted that he is not afraid of imprisonment.
Kejriwal, describing himself as a staunch patriot, dismissed efforts to intimidate him and expressed his commitment to serving the people. He invoked the principles of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, emphasizing the party’s dedication to public service rather than mere pursuit of power.
