80th Independence Day: PM Modi Says India Emerging As Widely Accepted, Respected Nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India’s global influence and stature have expanded significantly. He said the country is emerging as a widely accepted and respected nation.

Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the 80th Independence Day, PM Modi credited India’s stable political mandate, steady government, vibrant democracy, strong judiciary and Constitution for strengthening its international position.

“Today, India is emerging in the eyes of the world as a widely accepted and respected nation,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi added that the world has begun recognising these institutional strengths.

PM Modi highlighted India’s growing trade engagement since 2014. He said the country has finalised Free Trade Agreements and trade partnerships with nearly 40 nations.

PM Modi described these agreements as a major opportunity, particularly for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He further urged MSMEs to make full use of the expanding global market access.

The Prime Minister pointed to opportunities for coastal states and fishing communities.

From Kerala to Gujarat and Tamil Nadu to Bengal, exporters can benefit from greater access to international seafood markets.

The Prime Minister specifically highlighted shrimp exports and said the agreements could significantly expand India’s global seafood footprint. He urged stakeholders to seize the opportunity and achieve these milestones.

The Prime Minister linked these developments to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said the goal rests on the capabilities and achievements Indians have demonstrated over the past decade.

Prime Minister Modi stressed that India must sustain its momentum. Achieving the ambitious target, he said, requires a transformation in work culture, a stronger collective mindset and faster decision-making.

PM Modi called for greater speed in implementing projects to ensure India converts its growing opportunities into tangible progress.
