Police have arrested eight people, including four women, in connection with a religious conversion case in Sadar Ganj Western locality, under Madiyahun Kotwali police station. The arrest followed a complaint filed by Bajrang Dal workers late Sunday evening.
On receiving the complaint from the Bajrang Dal’s block convenor, police officials raided the house of Vinod Shilpakar. During the raid, they recovered Christian religious books, medicines, and a cross symbol from the spot. The police arrested eight people, including Sandeep Singh, who was allegedly being converted. The gang targeted poor Dalit families, luring them with promises of miracles and healing of diseases.
Among those arrested were four women, and police are taking necessary actions against them. Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers stated that Christian missionaries had been luring poor Dalit families into conversion for some time. Bajrang Dal’s Tipu Seth, Siddharth Maurya, Manish Mishra, and Rohan Chaurasia were present at the scene when the raid occurred.
