Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Delhi University (DU) on Friday to celebrate 100 years of DU. PM Modi in DU was accompanied by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The two of them were warmly welcomed by the university students. Over there, PM laid the foundation of 3 buildings of the university. After the laying of foundation stones, the PM Modi addressed the students of the University.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, says “…The global recognition of Indian Universities is increasing today. In 2014, only 12 Indian universities were there in QS World University Rankings, now it has risen to 45.” This is a great milestone for Indian education system as it brings global pride to the nation. He further highlighted the growth that India has done in the field of start-ups and entrepreneurship.
PM Narendra Modi drew a comparison between the third decade of 20th century and third decade of 21st century. He expressed that 1920s was “gave a new speed to freedom movement” and 2020s will see speed of development in India. He said, “The third decade of the 20th century gave a new speed to the freedom movement and the third decade of this 21st century will give a new speed to the development journey of the country.”

Prime Minister did not travel through some lavish cars to reach the event in Delhi. He rather took the conveyance mode of every common man in Delhi, that is the Delhi metro. In his travel he also talked to people on board. However, there was high security traveling with the PM
