4 students dead in stampede at Cusat fest in Kerala, CM assures probe

During a concert on Saturday at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), there was a stampede-like event that resulted in at least four student deaths and over sixty injuries. When the incident happened, singer Nikhita Gandhi was on stage. The injured pupils were being transported to Kalamassery Medical College, according to Kerala Health Minister Veena George. According to officials, two boys and two girls were carried to Kalamassery Medical College dead upon arrival.

“The entire state is in shock over the stampede that unfolded at CUSAT University in Ernakulam,” chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote on X. We send our sincere sympathies to the families of the four kids who passed away. For the injured, improved and immediate treatment facilities have been set up. The Ministers of Industries, P.

Rajeev, and Higher Education, R. Bindu, have left for Ernakulam to personally evaluate the situation. Without delay, a comprehensive inquiry into the situation will get underway.

“I was horrified and saddened to learn of the tragic deaths of four students at Cochin University of Science & Technology in a stampede. Sincere sympathies to their families. In his statement, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan prayed for the injured people’s quick recovery.

According to the university’s vice chancellor, the stampede happened as soon as it started to rain. “The festival opened yesterday. A variety of programs have been planned for the festival.
