Four more earthquakes rattled the Jammu region on Wednesday, causing concern among people a day after a 5.4 magnitude quake struck the Union territory’s Doda district.
Officials stated there had been no reports of casualties or property damage so yet.
At 8.29 a.m., a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was observed in Kishtwar.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), its epicentre was at a depth of 5 km.
Prior to it, earthquakes of magnitude 3.5 were reported in Doda at 7.56 a.m., with the epicentre at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Two further earthquakes were observed in the early morning hours.
According to the data, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred at 2.20 a.m. in the Doda district at a depth of 10 kilometres.
According to the NCS, the other quake, with a magnitude of 2.8, occurred 74 km east of Katra in the Reasi district at 2.43 a.m. Its epicentre was 5 miles deep.
The four new earthquakes struck a day after the Doda district was rattled by high-intensity tremors.
The earthquake on Tuesday destroyed several buildings in the hilly districts of Doda and Kishtwar. Five individuals were injured, including two youngsters, and schools were closed as a precautionary move by the administration.
The earthquake was felt widely in Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining regions.
According to the NCS, mild earthquakes in the Doda region are normal seismic activity based on a five-year review.
