On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) regiment centre in Srinagar witnessed a proud moment as 326 young recruits were inducted into the army.
The passing out parade (POP) marked the completion of the fifth batch of Agniveers’ training.
The newly inducted Agniveers marched in unison after completing 31 weeks of physical, mental, and tactical training.
Senior army officers, training instructors, and proud family members attended the ceremony.
A senior army official reviewed the parade, congratulated the recruits, and urged them to serve the nation with commitment and uphold the valour of the JAK LI regiment.
One Agniveer said, “I am feeling very good. It was hard work for 31 weeks. It was great to see my parents after 7 months.”
Another added, “It feels good to pass out, as I worked hard for the recruitment. I’m going home after seven months. More youth should join the army.”
A third recruit shared, “I feel proud of myself for passing out, especially since the training is very hard.” He also affirmed his readiness to be posted anywhere in the country.
Families expressed immense pride in the recruits’ achievement.
A parent urged other youths not to sit idly after studies, stating, “It’s a competitive era. As Eid is coming up, we will have two celebrations.”
Another family member from Kupwara said, “We are very happy my boy is passing out in this POP parade. That’s why we’re here. We are delighted to watch the parade. There is unemployment.”
The fifth Agniveer batch has now taken its place in the ranks, ready to serve the nation.
