3 Held As Delhi Police Seize 45 LPG Cylinders In Palam

Delhi Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly running an illegal LPG storage and refilling racket in the Palam area. Officials said they recovered 45 Bharat Gas cylinders from the site on Thursday.

In a crackdown led by the Palam Village Police Station, the operation was found to be functioning from a residential locality.

The accused have been identified as Anaar Singh from Najafgarh, a driver; Satyaveer from Dabri, a delivery boy; and Vikas Kumar from Palam, an assistant delivery boy.

The action began on March 28 at around 7:00 AM. Head Constable Rajesh received information about illegal LPG storage at a vacant plot in Palam Village.

Acting on the input, a police team, including SI RP Meena, HC Rajesh, and HC Lalit Kumar, reached the location. At the site, officials found a tempo parked inside the plot with its rear open.

Upon inspection, several domestic LPG cylinders belonging to Bharat Gas were discovered both inside the vehicle and in the open area. The tempo was also seized along with the cylinders.

Police found that LPG was being illegally transferred from one cylinder to another using nozzles and a weighing machine, without following safety norms. A total of 45 cylinders were recovered during the operation.

No Licence, Financial Motive Revealed

During questioning, the accused failed to produce any valid licence for storing LPG. They disclosed that the plot had been rented for illegal storage and refilling to earn financial gains.

Further investigation indicated that the activity was allegedly linked to staff associated with Blue Flame Gas Service in Janakpuri.

Officials from the SDM office in Dwarka inspected the site. Officials from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and the Food Safety Department also carried out inspections. They confirmed the violations.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Essential Commodities Act.

All seized cylinders, equipment, and the vehicle have been taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures.
