DIG Vaibhav Kumar in a press conference disclosed that the stampede situation in Maha Kumbh claimed 30 lives early on January 29.
Briefing the Press on Maha Kumbh arrangements, Kumar said a total of 60 devotees have sustained injuries while 30 have lost their lives. Mela authorities have identified 25 devotees of all 30 dead. Notably, a total of 90 people were taken to the hospital.

Highlighting the cause of the stampede, Vaibhav Kumar said that a massive crowd triggered the havoc. He further said a green corridor would be set up to cater to the treatment needs of the injured.
