1800 ‘Special Guests’ Invited For Independence Day Celebrations; Know Who All Are Part Of The List

Independence Day Celebrations: While preparations are going on for celebrations at the Red Fort, PM Modi will lead the nation in celebrating the 77th anniversary of Independence Day on 15th of August. According to a statement from the Defence Ministry, 1,800 ‘Special Guests’ from a variety of professions together with their wives have been invited to the celebrations.

Government’s goal of ‘Jan Bhagidari’

From the ramparts of the historic landmark, PM Modi will hoist the national flag and deliver the customary address to the country. Compared to last year, there have been a lot more visitors invited. According to the ministry, 1,800 “Special Guests” have been invited in keeping with the government’s “Jan Bhagidari” goal.

Special guests for Independence Day Celebrations

According to the statement, the ‘Special Guests’ include more than 400 sarpanches of more than 660 vibrant villages, 250 members of farmer producer organisations, 50 participants in each of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, 50 Shram Yogis (construction workers) of the Central Vista Project, which includes the New Parliament Building, 50 Khadi workers, those engaged in building border roads, Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana.

In addition to them, 50 elementary school teachers, nurses, and fisherman have all been invited to the Red Fort celebration.

15 August 2023 Planned

During their stay in Delhi, some of these Special Guests have plans to visit the National War Memorial and speak with Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt, according to the release.

It added that 75 couples from each state and Union Territory have been invited to watch the ceremony at Red Fort while dressed traditionally.

50 illustrious “Karmyogis” (Corporals) from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), along with their spouses, will attend the 76th Independence Day celebration as special guests. For the first time in the 63-year history of the Border Roads Organisation and the history of Indian freedom, 50 members of the Corporal rank have been given a unique invitation to attend the freedom Day celebrations in person. This historic event is extremely important because it recognises the Karmyogis of the BRO’s unremitting labour, tenacity, and resolve in defending and enhancing our country’s frontiers.
