In Dabra town, Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, two men kidnapped, gang-raped, and severely abused a sixteen-year-old girl before throwing her from a bridge, police said on Thursday. They also said they have started a search operation to find the two suspects who are still at large.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon while the student in Class 10th was travelling to her coaching classes, according to the police. The girl was kidnapped by the accused, Bobby Rawat (19) and Satendra Kushwaha (28), who took her to the Sahrai bridge in Dabra, where they sexually assaulted her.
“They raped the girl, thrashed her brutally, and later threw her from the Sahrai bridge. The girl was found in an unconscious state by a resident who informed her family and admitted her to a hospital in Gwalior,” town inspector (Dabra), Yashwant Goyal, said, adding that the survivor has sustained several serious injuries in the incident, including fractures in her ribs and legs, and deep wounds in her private parts, but her condition is stable now.
Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Meena, who is in charge, stated that the two men were booked after the survivor visited the hospital on Wednesday after she became conscious again. He declared, “We are examining the CCTV footage to determine how she was kidnapped and when the girl was spotted by herself close to the bridge.”
Based on the survivor’s complaint, Inspector Dabra stated that the police have filed a formal complaint (FIR) against Rawat and Kushwaha under the strict provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (Pocso) Act as well as sections 376 (D) (gang rape), 366 (abduction), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused, who are presently evading capture, have been placed under special team assignment.
Police in the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh said on Thursday that two men had been arrested for gangraping a 15-year-old girl in front of her parents, who were being held captive at gunpoint.
The three accused, Akash Gurjar (25), Sanjeev Gurjar (24), and an unidentified man, were paying a visit to Bunty Kumar, the survivor’s neighbour, on Monday when the incident occurred. The father of the victim is employed by Akash Gurjar at the stone quarry.
“Akash, Sanjeev and a resident of Morena district were visiting Bunty Kumar when they spotted the survivor standing outside her house. The three men, who were inebriated, barged into the girl’s house and raped her after taking her parents hostage at gunpoint. Kumar, meanwhile, was standing at a distance as the crime took place,” SP Meena said.
The police have filed a case against three of the accused under section 376 (d) (gangrape) and under applicable Pocso Act provisions based on the complaint filed by the girl’s family, he continued. Kumar has been booked under sections 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
