First Personalized Cancer Treatment Centre in India
1 in 9 people in the Indian sub-Continent is likely to suffer from Cancer in their lifetime. Also, reports say that the new Cancer cases in India are assumed to reach 1.5 million by the year 2025. Hence it is the most life-threatening disease to the human race with difficult treatment procedures.
Cancer leads to the unnatural growth of cells in some particular parts of the human body. This excessive cell formation might lead to the formation of tumors (lumps of tissues). Which might or might not be Cancerous.

Dr. Amit Verma, molecular oncologist, and cancer geneticist trained at the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre has opened India’s first Precision Oncology Centre.
The centre will provide customized treatment for Cancer. The same will be base on the genetics of the patient. The Health Centre is setting up as ‘Dr. AV Cancer Centre’ in Gurugram.
“The treatment here is basically given to the patient based on the tumor genomics and the patient genomics.” as quoted by the doctor. The oncology centre will consider the specific features of the patient and the tumor.

Only after that, they would provide personalized treatment. The treatment may vary to according to the genetics of the patient. It may differ to such an extent that the same stage with the same disease might have different treatments.
This is called ‘Precision Oncology’ or ‘Personalized Cancer Medicine’.
This hospital will be aimed at providing complete solutions to Cancer Patients. The personalization part of the hospital will help the patients to the most.
